First pedicure of the year. Never had one until I moved to NYC, where all the women, even the punks and the hippies, seem to wear colorful toenail polish. I absolutely love letting someone else take care of my feet — but find manicures invasive and irritating. I think I feel more embodied in my hands, and letting a stranger mess with them feels just too intimate.

depending on where you live, each place charges separately. i wouldn’t trust wal-mart to get it done though. pedicures tend to run for about $ 25-40, depending… and manicures around $ 15. try calling a few local beauty salons around and asking for prices, or check there websites. i hope this helps.

if you would rather giving it to her separately then buying the kits itself at wal-mart are around $ 15 for both.

I’ve always had “a thing” with nice hands and feet so I give my boyfriend a manicure and pedicure once a week ( I don’t paint his nails lol) and he absolutely loves them on friday nights even though I don’t ask for them back I think it would be just a little too much work for him lol!

Prom is in a couples weeks and i want to get my nails done but i don’t know what design to have done. I was thinking about just getting a french manicure and pedicure, but i don’t know if it will be too simple. My dress is a pastel green color. Any suggestions would help me a whole lot.

Well you could do French Tips and make the french tips the color of your dress and then the line separated the green and you nail could be a sparkly silver. Also I would do some fake finger nails for it if I were you.

The Secondis acquired the property in January 2006 and have been renovating since. Completion is scheduled for spring 2007. The building will be home to a luxurious spa with a yoga and wellness studio, massage rooms, manicure and pedicure areas, a facial room, private bathrooms, a handicap-accessible multi-purpose room, outdoor common areas and a third floor apartment. The structure was built in 1853 and has been home to a grocery store, a harness and buggy shop, Petersburg Auto Garage, a restaurant, Dalton’s jewelry store, a trophy shop and a screen printing business. Renovation surprises include a structural engineer proclaiming that in 50 years of experience, he’s never seen a building that was engineered with such precision as this and that it was built to last forever!

Overall, Rocinha was much more organized than I thought it would be. To me, it seemed like just another community. People had television, there were internet cafes, hair salons where you could get manicures and pedicures, movie and dvd rental places and at one point they even had a McDonalds. Visiting the favela really opened my eyes past the myths of violence and unhappiness that are associated with slums and shanty towns. Although the people living here are poor, they had an entire community that had anything that they might need, and a lot of it for a lot cheaper than one would find outside the favela.

Floyd is now working at LeSalon. Today he shaped my hair with his "magic" comb and clippers.
Afterwards I went to U.S. Nails for a manicure and pedicure. Then I went shopping for some clothes and shoes for our Vegas trip.
This evening I packed my clothes. Tomorrow I will pack my camera equipment for the trip. Our flight leaves early Friday morning.

Yes,it will be fine,just make sure you go to a reputable salon and that their equipment is sterilized(but thats for anyone not just pregnant women)and have fun,you deserve it!
PS.if you go to a spa there will not be funky chemicals,thats only in those “one on every corner” type nail salons
